Connect your own communication accounts to Nova
These connections allow Nova to send outreach messages on your behalf through Email, LinkedIn, and the Nova network.
Before launching an outreach sequence, you'll need to connect at least one supported communication channel.

At least one communication channel must be connected before you can send outreach sequences. Connecting multiple channels allows you to reach candidates across different platforms and maximize response rates.
1. Available communication channels
Nova supports three communication channels for outreach:
Connect your Gmail or Outlook account to send personalized emails directly from your own email address.
Candidates receive the emails as if they were sent by you and can reply directly to your inbox.
Connect your LinkedIn account to automate connection requests, direct messages, and follow-up messages while respecting your configured daily limits and activity schedule.
LinkedIn is recommended for engaging candidates who are most active on the platform.
Nova
The Nova channel allows you to reach candidates who are members of the Nova network, providing an additional communication channel alongside LinkedIn and Email.
2. Connect your accounts
🔒 Your accounts and conversations remain private
Nova uses secure OAuth authentication to connect your communication channels. The permissions granted are only used to send outreach messages on your behalf and keep your sequences synchronized.
Nova does not read or store your private conversations, inbox, or message history.
Enable the channel you'd like to use and complete the authentication process.
Once connected, the channel will display a Connected status and become available when creating outreach sequences.
You can disconnect or reconnect your accounts at any time from this page.
💡 Connecting Gmail vs. Microsoft
Gmail accounts usually connect without any additional steps.
If you're connecting a Microsoft 365 or Outlook work account, your organization's security policies may require administrator approval before third-party applications can connect to your mailbox.
If the connection is blocked, contact your IT administrator and ask them to approve Nova's email integration.
3. Share your connected accounts with your team (Optional)
If you collaborate with teammates, you can allow them to use your connected accounts when launching outreach sequences.
Enable Share my connected accounts with the team to allow other teammates to:
- Launch outreach sequences using your connected Email and LinkedIn accounts.
- Communicate with candidates on your behalf.
- Continue candidate conversations using your sender identity.
💡 This is especially useful when multiple recruiters collaborate on the same hiring project but want to send outreach from a single recruiter account.
If this option is disabled, only you can use your connected accounts for outreach.
4. Configure your LinkedIn outreach settings
Once LinkedIn is connected (optional), you can configure how Nova interacts with your LinkedIn account.
Private conversations
Enable Private conversations if you don't want teammates to see your LinkedIn conversations with candidates, even if you've shared your connected accounts.

Select the LinkedIn subscription that matches your account:
- Free
- Premium
- Recruiter Lite
Nova uses this information to recommend safe daily activity limits based on your LinkedIn subscription.
I already use LinkedIn regularly for outreach
Enable this option if you already send connection requests and messages manually on LinkedIn.
If left disabled, Nova will recommend more conservative activity limits to avoid sudden increases in LinkedIn activity.
Daily activity limits
Configure the maximum number of:
- Connection requests per day
- LinkedIn messages per day
The recommended limits vary depending on your LinkedIn plan and whether you already use LinkedIn for outreach.
💡 Follow the recommended limits whenever possible Staying within Nova's recommendations helps keep your outreach activity natural and reduces the risk of LinkedIn temporarily restricting your account.
Activity schedule
Choose the time window during which Nova is allowed to send LinkedIn requests and messages.
Configure:
- Start of activity
- End of activity
- Timezone
Messages scheduled outside this window are automatically queued and sent during the next active period.
Withdraw pending connection requests
Choose after how many days Nova should automatically withdraw unanswered LinkedIn connection requests.
✨This helps keep your pending invitation queue healthy, stays within LinkedIn's recommended limits, and frees up capacity for new connection requests.
